  • Phased-In Plan for Returning to Face-to-Face Instructional Setting

    Galena Park Independent School District is excited to open our schools for face-to-face instruction starting Monday, October 5, 2020 for Elementary students. We will be incorporating a phased-in approach to ensure our students, staff and parents are able to safely adjust to the new instructional setting. Middle School students will report on Tuesday, October 13, 2020, and High School students on Monday, October 19, 2020.

  • Galena Park I.S.D. is open! Reopening of Schools 2020 - 2021

    We are excited to have welcomed our students and staff back to school for the 2020-2021 school year! Please check this webpage often for updates on the latest news and plans for the school year, and to become familiar with the options presented to parents/guardians for their child(ren)s' educational settings for the 2020-2021 school year. Please note, however, that plans are subject to change in order to remain in compliance with ever-changing guidance from our local and state officials, the Harris County Public Health Department (HCPH), the Texas Education Agency (TEA), and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

  • Bus WiFi Hotspots Available Daily

    Galena Park I.S.D. is offering a new service to help our students' access WiFi, the WiFi Bus system. The WiFi Bus system consists of 20 strategically placed buses with mobile WiFi hotspots for students to log on and complete their schoolwork.

  • Digital Art Contest

    Galena Park I.S.D. Technology Department will be hosting an art contest for all GPISD students. Students are being asked to design a background for the ClassLink launch page. The design must be submitted by January 8, 2021. For information on how to submit your design, please visit your child's campus webpage.

  • New Beginnings Support Group

    Galena Park I.S.D.'s Mental Health Intervention Team is offering a six-week New Beginnings Support Group for students, parents, or staff in need of a safe, supportive environment to share and cope with their feelings associated with the COVID-19 pandemic or any other life stressors. Participation in the group is free of charge and open to GPISD students, parents, and staff.

  • Removal of Unauthorized/Disruptive Persons

    As of August 26, 2018 all school districts are subject to the Commissioner’s new rules regarding the removal of a disruptive person from a campus. More information regarding this new rule can be found in Chapter 37, section 37.105 of the Texas Education Code, which addresses: Unauthorized Persons, Refusal of Entry, Ejection, and Identification.

    Galena Park ISD regularly provides mass notifications to parents, guardians, students, and faculty regarding weather closures, threat situations, event scheduling, or to provide other important education-related information.
