The North Shore Mustangs defeated Duncanville in the 2019 UIL Football State Final on Saturday, December 21, 2019. The Mustangs 31-17 win over Duncanville cemented their team as back-to-back Class 6A Division I state champions. Galena Park I.S.D. is proud of the hard work and dedication the team and coaches displayed this season.
To increase your child’s readiness for kindergarten, Galena Park I.S.D. will begin to offer a full day Pre-Kindergarten program for 4 year-old students at all campuses. A half day program is also offered for 3 year-old students at select campuses.
Galena Park I.S.D. is now accepting proposals from preschool providers seeking to participate in G.P.I.S.D.’s Public Pre-K Partnerships for eligible Pre-K students. Participating families will receive high-quality, full-day prekindergarten education services and comprehensive, wrap-around supports to be provided by Childcare Partnership preschools that submit successful proposals and are chosen to participate by G.P.I.S.D.
All GPISD students and parents are invited to attend the College Bound Boot Camp on Saturday, February 1, 2020. The camp will be from 8:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the Joyce Zotz Education Center. Visitors will receive information on financial aid, college entrance exam preparation, and college life information, as well as, door prizes, scholarship applications, college workshops and much more.

As of August 26, 2018 all school districts are subject to the Commissioner’s new rules regarding the removal of a disruptive person from a campus. More information regarding this new rule can be found in Chapter 37, section 37.105 of the Texas Education Code, which addresses: Unauthorized Persons, Refusal of Entry, Ejection, and Identification.
Galena Park ISD regularly provides mass notifications to parents, guardians, students, and faculty regarding weather closures, threat situations, event scheduling, or to provide other important education-related information. These messages not only drive positive educational outcomes, they can also save lives.
